The first thing AI Conference guests saw at the entrance to the event was KIKI, an interactive robotic promoter with emotional intelligence. The machine was telling about its opportunities and conference, and simply entertaining guests with interesting conversations.

The first block of the business conference began with the introductory speech of the moderator Pavel Doronin telling how companies use modern capabilities of artificial intelligence.
The next speaker was Evgeny Arnautov from SAP. He said that modern computer intelligence is able to learn using data without direct programming. Due to this feature it surpasses person in the ability to recognize images and text in any language, as well as easily wins in poker and other games even when playing with professionals. The speaker also presented SAP Clea, a product for running smart business, and Cash Application, a solution for accounting, which automates payments and accumulates the acquired knowledge.
Dmitry Korobchenko from Nvidia spoke about the operation principle of high-precision and recurrent neural networks, demonstrating how program can synthesize an image on demand. Right during the report, the video, which demonstrated a horse, turned into a video with a zebra. It was pretty impressive.
Report of Dmitry Burov's from Mail.Ru Group was dedicated to social networks and classification of users in various categories, including short-term and long-term interests. These technologies can help to customize the most personalized selection of offers.
Gregor Jarish from the Austrian company E.D.D.I. reported that today 49% of users do not install applications, but rather use instant messengers. That's why it is important to use chatbots for successful business promotion: “Chatbots shouldn’t be installed, you can communicate with them in your native language. In addition, bot is constantly learning, if it has such a mechanism. In business, bots can be used for customer support, training, providing data for tourists, selecting products much more.”
Alexey Gavrish from Google EMEA said that the company staked on artificial intelligence 5 years ago, and today AI technologies are integrated into more than 4000 internal projects. For example, Google uses the RankBrain AI solution to search and rank results.
Anton Melekhov from RTB House took the floor during the second block. The speaker presented a unique technology of neural networks-based computing, which can be successfully used in e-commerce.
It was interesting to listen to the presentation of a HeadHunter representative. Aleksandr Sidorov described how artificial intelligence addresses a number of issues in the field of recruiting by the example of practical cases: resume moderation, selection of vacancies interesting for job seekers, intelligent search using machine learning, ranking of responses. The speaker noted: “The use of machine learning is quite effective in recruiting: on average, the target metrics grow by dozens of percent. In the short term, the effectiveness of recruiting increases due to time-saving for recruiters, while the speed of job searching for job seekers increases. In the medium term, machine learning systems will deal with recruiting and job searching, and human participation in the process will decrease.”
Alexander Khanin from VisionLabs demonstrated how face can be used as the main identifier of a person. The company's technology helps to prevent fraud, and also makes the identification process quick and convenient.
IBM expert Alexey Anikin said that his company invested $2 billion in the Internet of Things and today offers a variety of AI products: electronic document management, equipment analysis, predictive maintenance, resource consumption monitoring systems, smart concierge and much more.
Dmitry Soshnikov from Microsoft spoke in detail about innovative tools and cognitive services for business, which are now available on the official resource of the company.
Amazon representative, Anwar Shemyla, showed how to make Alexa a really useful business assistant: you should use the Alexa Skills Kit, a free SDK tool, that will train the voice assistant for new functions. By the way, soon Amazon Alexa will enter the international market and will be available in all languages.

Experts came to the conclusion that in the near future the field of artificial intelligence will get huge investments. Many Russian funds, which were previously oriented to the foreign market, now pay their attention to domestic startups and are even ready to invest into the projects at the seed stage.
Startup battle: judges and audience chose the best AI projects
The grandiose startup battle included 10 most promising AI projects. The representative of the BAZAAR VP venture platform Denis Kozminykh moderated the battle. It was very difficult for judges to choose the best startup, since all the participants deserved victory. As a result, ChatFirst project took the first place, presenting a set of solutions for corporate communication via instant messengers and on the Internet. The winner received a certificate for expert evaluation and attraction of the investment round from VentureClub.
The audience gave its preference to the uKit Group startup, which presented a service for renovation of online resources through ultra-precise neural networks and generative design.
