In the second half of 2016, Google implemented neural machine translation in Google Translate service. At that time it worked only for English to Chinese translations. Gradually, it was scaled for other languages as well. And now time has come for Russian language.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the system perceives whole phrases and sentences rather than separate words, taking into account the overall context. Thus, a meaningful and reasonable translation is generated, as if performed by a professional. Besides that, it is a self-learning system, meaning that in the future translations will be of even higher quality.
Neural machine translation is available for desktop and mobile versions of Google Translate.
