PwC company predicts that AI technologies can boost UK GDP by £232 billion. But British startups don’t always have the opportunity to work on new developments in the field of artificial intelligence. The reason for this is the lack of access to computer systems with high capacity. The solution to this problem was opening a free test site for machine learning – the Garage.
According to Ministry of Finance representatives, £75 million were allocated for this. A state company, Digital Catapult, will handle opening the Garage. New computers with modern systems and connection to cloud services will be installed on the location. Specialists will also be able to conduct various tests of their developments there.
The special feature of this testing area is that it can be used absolutely free of charge. If before, one test cost £10 thousand, now this testing is available for any startup. It will be possible to work on at least five projects at the same time on the site.
