AI algorithm predicts risks of heart seizure more precisely than doctors

British scientists developed an artificial intelligence system capable of predicting the risks of heart seizure more precisely than leading cardiologists.

According to statistics, over 20 million people annually die due to complications of heart diseases. In the light of this situation, the American Heart Association made up a list of risk factors, including age, pressure, and blood cholesterol level. This list allows determining the risk of heart seizure within the accuracy of 72.8%.

British researchers helped to improve this result. They developed four algorithms based on artificial intelligence. These AI solutions were used to analyze data of around 400 thousand patients from the UK. Based on the obtained results, algorithms proposed their own forecasts. Their accuracy comprised 74.5-76.4%, meaning that the use of artificial intelligence algorithms will allow saving 355 more people out of 83 thousand patients.
